About

Museum of Self is devoted to deepening humanity's self understanding. Here, we explore beyond limited understandings of who we think we are, and more discover inhabit what it is to be human.

While the world flirts with existential risk, a new way of seeing the world is emerging, informed by a deeper understanding of ourselves.

Here’s your invitation to inquire within.

Tips While Visiting

Museum of Self is not a museum, at least not as you have been to before. It doesn't have operating hours, nor a coat check. It’s not a fixed building, location, or idea.

It’s a way of being in this moment, with openness and curiosity, to explore what we are. This website offers a collection of “artifacts” uncovered along this path of discovery.

Reasons for Being

Museum of Self is being invoked because..

  • Becoming, both as a person and as a society, depends on who we think we are.
  • Self understanding is a critical ingredient needed for a more enlightened society.
  • Our dominant culture tends to focus on reductionist secular materialism. This limited perspective prevents a deeper self understanding.
  • Myriad cultures and traditions offer self insights crucial for our times. These diverse perspectives are needed now.
  • How you relate to your self informs how you relate to everything else. Getting to know this self is time well spent.
